Almost returned the fan because we didn’t know how to install it on our ceiling, and thought there are missing pieces. We found a number from the manufacturer in the box and called their customer service. They were so patient and helped step by step during installation. Told us what was missing, a square metal board (because our ceiling wire box are not the usual size), some screws to connect the hanging bridge to the metal board, you will also need a wire cutter. Bought everything from a local hardware store and cost $6. The manufacturer customer service was available through calls and even text messages. Once you have all the tools and parts, it’s actually pretty easy and straightforward. It turned out to be very beautiful, fan runs quiet and stays well on the ceiling. I also made a longer string for pulling the fan switch because our ceiling is a bit high. Super happy with the purchase, and highly recommend. Stop looking for more options, this is the best deal on the market.

High quality and the best customer service!

Excellent fan for the price.   Easy to install if your home is pre-wired for a ceiling fan or if your replacing and existing fan.   I self installed in about 1 hour because I had a wire that was red and a red wire wasn't listed in the assembly instructions.    It all worked out   It's also very quiet and does a good job.

I have purchased the same fan twice because it works so well. I installed the fan in the master bedroom and it works perfectly so I got another for the guest bedroom. The fan blades come in a choice of color or design that matches my decor. I installed the ceiling fan myself and it is very easy.

It's so nice I bought it twice

This was the first time I've installed a ceiling fan and it was very easy to install. Helps to have a second pair of hands but I did it alone. Looks great and runs pretty quietly.

Great value indeed!

The fan works and the bronze is nice-looking. My neighbor installed in about fifteen minutes. It's more plain than my last one, but it costs much less and I love that the newer one is more energy-efficient to lower bills. The bronze matches my Victorian-style room. I like that the blades have two finishes from which to choose, one solid bronze and one an antique greyish shade. It's small and fits my small bedroom. Be extremely careful with the globe. It's thin like eggshells and mine had a small crack, but it's a pretty glass instead of a cheap-looking plastic. You can interchange any globe you want, btw. I kept my decorative one from the last fan and used it instead of the one included with purchase. My only complaint is that it wobbles so much on the highest setting that I'm afraid it's going to fly off. Nobody can figure out why. The former fan wobbled just a little bit, but nothing like this one, so I usually avoid the highest setting. Other than that, it does the job inexpensively. I've had good experiences buying the Mainstays brand.

Does the job

The fan works great but I hate the light it emanates.  The max wattage for ceiling fans these days is apparently 60 watts with a little bulb.  The room looks like a cave.  And while a regular bulb fits. It messes with the current.   I kept it but had to buy a separate lamp.

Good fan, weak, weak light

soon as i switched the fan blade direction for the winter (maybe 2wks after installation), now there is an annoying and obnoxious metal scraping sound inside the motor that renders the fan unusable

Straight out of the bix, 2 blades hung 1/4" lower than the rest.  The fan wobbled badly. Tried to balance it but couldn't called the customer support as directed on the instruction. Chinese lady answered with nothing more than " Hello".  I asked about support for my fan and she muttered something inaudible. I asked again if I had called Mainstays support and she yelled that I got sales. I asked for support and she starts shouting that i need to call the seller, not her.  Mind you that the number I got for support was on a page that stated I should not return the item to the seller but, rather, call the support number.  After taking it on and of the ceiling 3 times to troubleshoot, I gave up. Its going back in the bix and back to walmart.  Defects happen, but the lack of support is what caused me to rate this so low. I would steer clear of this fan.

No support, not a good product.

I installed it but had to immediately take it back down because the blade brackets rubbed the motor housing.   The entire assembly was crooked from the ceiling mount to the motor, one way, and crooked from the motor to the light another way.   I wasted an entire afternoon trying to salvage the install only to have to install the old light fixture.   Super dissatisfied.
